Market Square Records formed in 2012, is my own DIY record label, which will operate out of my home in Billingshurst, West Sussex.
The manifesto of the label is... to put out various side-projects which I will be working on over the next few years, plus any bands of whom I personally feel have a decent and good ethic behind their music. Bands especially who don't pander to commerciality or feel the need to play what is considered popular and hip by today's standards.
I am especially interested in bands who truly "mean it" when they play their songs - in this day and age, there are many sub-standard bands out there, many who I feel lack the true spirit of music as a creative outlet for personal good, prefering instead to make money or become popular in fabricated scenes whilst at the same time making terrible looking and sounding records, this is against mine and Market Square Records' aims and goals.
Releases on 'Market Square' will only be put out on 7" 45rpm vinyl and will each be limited to 300 copies only!!!
This label is basically a hobby which I aim to create something really cool out of.
Feel Free to email the label here if you want me to hear demos and/or consider your band for future releases etc etc
or visit the label's temporary web-page www.marketsquarerecordings.blogspot.co.uk
This DIY label is in no way associated with the bigger Market Square Music who also trade under the Market Square Records name.
My only internet output is and will be via Blogspot and Bandcamp, until I get myself a better website specific to the labels output.
